CAPT David Gast
Captain David Gast, U.S. Navy, is an Engineering Duty Officer who recently served as Program Manager for the Navy’s Command and Control Systems Program Office (PMW 150) and is now serving as both the Innovation Lead and the Mission Effects and Requirements Analysis Lead for Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (PEO C4I). He served operationally in USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70) and USS HEWITT (DD 966), and as Combat Systems Officer in USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). He led acquisition teams at the National Reconnaissance Office, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), and PEO C4I, and was an Associate Fellow to the Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group (CNO SSG) XXIII. Captain Gast was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in Space Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
