Defense SBIR STTR 101 with Q&A

DOD and other agencies authorized by Congress to execute SBIR STTR programs will speak to their programs to advance defense and national security. Experts will explain service objectives (DOD calls them demand signals) and speak to program specifics like the annual cycle, solicitations, and evaluations. Learn and ask questions about SBIR vs. STTR; Phase 1, 2, 3, and STRATFI TACFI; Specific vs. Open topics & more! Please note: Adding this session to your agenda does not guarantee admission. Deputy District Director · SBA

Dr. Stepanenko was appointed in October 2023 as a Deputy District Director. She transferred to the SBA from the Department of Homeland Security after nine years of federal service, where she has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of federal operations. She held key roles, including a Section Chief with the Analysis and Integrity Division, a Researcher with the Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations Research Division, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, and a Program Manager with the US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Deputy District Director Stepanenko an MBA with Honors and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership.

Senior Program Analyst · DON SBIR/STTR Support Team

Megan Stokes is a contractor supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs. Megan coordinates DON’s participation in the DoD SBIR/STTR Broad Agency Announcements and supports DON SBIR/STTR Programs outreach efforts by engaging small businesses across the country. She has a BS in Business Administration, Management and has supported the SBIR/STTR Programs for over 18 years. The DON SBIR/STTR Programs are mission-oriented programs that integrate the needs and requirements of the DON’s Fleet through research and development (R&D) topics that have dual use potential, but primarily address the needs of the DON. U.S. Army SBIR|STTR Program Manager · Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Logistics and Technology

Mr. Zeke Topolosky manages the Department of the Army’s Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR|STTR) programs executed out of the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)). In this role he oversees the integration of Army SBIR|STTR investments with Army programs to deliver novel solutions from U.S.-based small businesses to our Soldiers. Mr. Topolosky has 23 years of experience with the Army working on science and technology development and strategic partnerships.
